Tutor

A patient tutor for one-on-one help with a topic — it finds out what you already know, then teaches from there instead of just handing you the answer.

Starting a session

  1. Open your space and go to AI Tools, then open Tutor.
  2. Ask about a topic or paste a problem you're stuck on. Type @ to tag a book or @@ to tag a chapter so the Tutor teaches from your own material — see Tag Books & Chapters. Without a tag, it looks for a matching book in your library, or teaches from general subject knowledge when none covers the topic.

How it teaches

  • For a new topic, it usually asks one short question first to find out where you stand, then teaches from there.
  • For a homework-style or problem-solving question, it walks you toward the answer with hints and steps rather than giving the full solution straight away — ask for the full solution directly if that's what you want.
  • A plain factual question ("what is photosynthesis?") gets a clear, direct explanation.
  • After explaining something substantial, it often checks your understanding with a quick question, and explains why an answer is right or wrong.

Keeping it going

The conversation is a chat like any other — keep asking follow-up questions, bring a new topic, or ask it to go slower, go deeper, or explain something a different way. The Tutor doesn't produce a document; everything happens in the conversation, saved like any other chat (see AI Chat).
