Memory

Classly remembers useful things about you in each space, so every chat starts from who you are.

What gets saved

While you chat, Classly saves short facts that will matter later: your class and board, how you like answers, your teaching or study situation, your goals, and dates like an upcoming test. Ask it to remember, correct or forget something and it will. When it saves something, a line under the reply says Saved to memory, with Undo.

Classly never saves marks, answers or mistakes (those live on your Mistakes page), and it is told never to save health, religion, caste, family, money or contact details, or anything about another person.

Seeing and changing it

Open Memory from your Profile page, a chat's info sheet, or See memory under a reply that saved one. You can add, edit, pin and forget memories, turn memory off, or forget everything in the space.

  • Pinned memories come first and are never removed to make room.
  • Dated memories disappear a week after their date.
  • Memory keeps about 150 facts per space; pinned and dated memories can take it past that. When it's full, the least-used ones make room, and Classly tells you which.
  • With memory off, chats don't read or save memories. What's saved stays until you forget it.

Privacy

Memory belongs to you in one space. Other members, including admins, can't see it. Forgetting a memory deletes it; the chat it came from stays until you delete that chat. If you leave a space or are removed from it, your memories there are deleted.
